An indoor immersive experience inspired by J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, transforming the Gas Hall into a whimsical world with pirate ships, forests and fairy lights.
Neverland opens at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery on Friday 23 October, taking over The Gas Hall on Edmund Street. It's an indoor immersive experience inspired by J M Barrie's Peter Pan, and it's the first time the show has come to Birmingham after touring around the world.
Culture Creative, the company behind it, is known for staging immersive shows in heritage environments, and they've turned The Gas Hall into the story's setting. You'll find pirate ships, whimsical forests, the Lost Boys' hideout and rooms filled with twinkling fairy lights, and you'll encounter characters like Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, Tinkerbell and the crocodile. It's a timed-entry experience, so you're not just wandering in and out when you fancy; you've got a slot, and the whole thing takes about 45 minutes.
It's open from 23 October through to Sunday 3 January 2027, so it runs right through the Christmas period. It's closed on Mondays, except for 26 October, 21 December and 28 December, and it's closed on Friday 25 December. All ages are welcome, which makes it an easy one to bring the kids along for over the holidays.
