Monthly free open night at the Birmingham School of Art where students present exhibitions, performances, workshops and open studios to the public.
Art Night School is back at The Birmingham School of Art on Margaret Street this Tuesday 27 October, from 5.30pm to 8pm. It's a regular fixture in the city's arts calendar, with the school opening its doors to the public on the last Tuesday of each month. This one is part of a wider run, so if you can't make it this week, there are more dates to follow: 24 November 2026, 23 February 2027 and 23 March 2027, all running from 5.30pm to 8pm.
The night is built around the school's students. It's embedded in the curriculum, which means it's a platform for them to test new work, trial ideas and get their practice in front of a wider audience. On the night, they present exhibitions, performances, workshops, experimental practice and open studios, so you'll see a mix of finished pieces and work still in progress. There are art markets running alongside, too, if you're looking to pick something up.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Birmingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's open to everyone, not just people with a connection to the school. That includes industry guests, alumni, parents and the general public, so it's as much for the casual visitor as it is for those who know the place. Entry is free and no booking is required, so you can just turn up on the night. It runs from 5.30pm to 8pm at The Birmingham School of Art on Margaret Street.
