Popular culture show with guests, games, anime, manga, movies, steampunk, Yu-Gi-Oh, Stormtroopers and cosplay, plus a Kids Mega Zone.
MegaCon Live comes to the NEC Campus, Halls 3 & 4 on 5-6 December, a weekend for anyone into pop culture. It's run by Bryan Cooney, co-founder of MCM Comic Con, and his team, and it pulls together guests, games, anime, manga, movies, steampunk, Yu-Gi-Oh, Stormtroopers and cosplay under one roof. Stars from TV, film and gaming appear for live stage sessions and Q&As, so there's a good bit of the day spent watching and listening rather than just browsing.
Alongside the main floor, there's a Kids Mega Zone of inflatable and interactive attractions, and up to two children aged 10 and under go free with each ticketed adult, which makes it a bit easier to bring the whole family along. The show also stages at other venues, including MegaCon London, and this winter Birmingham edition is a second annual date added alongside the established spring show as the event heads into its fifth anniversary year.
