Halloween science show with magical experiments and demonstrations by a Thinktank science witch, a drop-in session during the October half term.
Magic Mayhem is running at Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, a Halloween science show that sits right in the middle of the October half term. It's held in the Theatre on Level 3, and since it runs across five days, you've got plenty of options for when to drop in.
The whole thing is led by one of Thinktank's resident science witches, who takes the audience through a string of enchanting experiments and astonishing demonstrations. It's a science show with a Halloween theme, so it leans into the magic of the season while keeping the science front and centre. There's also the odd magical mishap thrown in for good measure, and plenty of chances to get involved rather than just watching from your seat. Each show lasts about 30 minutes, so it's a relatively short commitment that fits easily into a day out.

Because it runs as a drop-in session during the half term, you don't need to book a specific slot in advance. You can just turn up when it suits you. There are three shows a day — 11.30am, 1pm and 3pm — so whether you're fancying a morning trip or a mid-afternoon break, you've got a time that works. The show is included in the admission price, so once you're in the museum, the performance is part of the deal. If you're already planning a visit to Thinktank during the half term, it's an easy addition to the day.
