Exhibition of work by MAC Birmingham tutors and participants inspired by the human form in life drawing, dance, sculpture and photography.
Made at MAC: Capturing the Human Form is showing at MAC Birmingham from Saturday 4 July 2026 to Sunday 7 February 2027, in the Made at MAC Gallery. It's a long run, so you've got plenty of time to fit it in over the summer and well into the winter.
The exhibition brings together work by MAC tutors and participants from across the full breadth of the college's courses, all drawing inspiration from the human form. You'll see it handled in life drawing, dance, sculpture and photography, so it's not just one medium—it's a mix of how different people approach the same subject. Because it's a collective show, you get to see a wide range of styles and stages, from the tutors leading the classes to the participants working through them.
There's a specific nod here to the people who make that work possible: the MAC team of Life Models. The exhibition highlights their commitment, and the way their tireless efforts enable the study, creation and experimentation that end up on the walls. It's a nice touch to put the focus on the models who sit for the artists, rather than just the finished pieces.
