Free follow-up Mantra meditation session, open to those who attended the previous class, at Birmingham Friends of the Earth.
Birmingham Friends of the Earth at The Warehouse is hosting a follow-up meditation session on Sunday 25 October, from 11:15am to 12:45pm. It's a continuation of the first Mantra Meditation class, so it's open to those who attended that one. The session is part of the group's free monthly Mantra meditation meetings, which are run by volunteers from a charity organisation.
The practice itself is rooted in ancient Vedic literature, around 5,000 years old, and the classes combine introductory talks, practical workshops and Q&A. The tradition it draws on holds that the aim isn't about doing yoga, but achieving Yoga, understood as a spiritual state of union. Beyond the regular monthly meetings, the group occasionally holds one-day retreats.
