Immersive escape room in which a team of four solves puzzles to lift an ancient Egyptian curse and stop a mummy before time runs out.
Escape Hunt's Curse of the Pharaoh is running at their Birmingham city centre venue on Cannon Street, one of four immersive escape rooms they've got there. The venue opened in time for the summer holidays, alongside their second site over at Resorts World, so it's still relatively new to the city.
Curse of the Pharaoh is set in Ancient Egypt, and the story starts with a powerful curse unleashed and a terrifying mummy on the loose. You and your team head deep into the pharaoh's tomb to return a sacred amulet and lift the curse before the hour is up, cracking codes and solving puzzles along the way. It's a classic escape room setup: you're locked in a themed room and have to work your way out by figuring out the puzzles before the clock runs out.
The room works for groups of two to six players, and it's open to anyone aged eight and over, though under-16s need an adult with them. Chief Executive Richard Harpham describes the venue as an ideal spot for friends, family, parties or work events, with team-building packages built to boost morale and inspire collaboration, and gifting options for birthdays, thank-you gifts and rewarding employees. If you're not in the mood for being locked in a room, the venue also runs three outdoor City Hunt games suitable for all ages, with under-eights going free.
