Ancient Egyptian-themed indoor escape room where a team of four races against the clock to lift a pharaoh's curse.
Curse of the Pharaoh is one of the indoor escape rooms at Escape Hunt on Cannon Street, in the heart of Birmingham city centre. The venue opened in time for the summer holidays, alongside the company's second site over at Resorts World, so it's still a relatively new addition to the city's centre.
The room is an ancient Egyptian-themed adventure. The story goes that a powerful curse has been unleashed and a terrifying mummy is on the loose; your team has to head deep into the pharaoh's tomb to return a sacred amulet and lift the curse before the 60 minutes are up. It's billed as one of their immersive, adrenaline-fuelled 5-star experiences, and it's suitable for ages eight and over, with under-16s needing an adult with them.
Curse of the Pharaoh is one of four indoor rooms at the Cannon Street venue, so if you're planning a bigger outing, you can fit in more than one. The indoor games are complemented by three outdoor City Hunt adventures, which take you out into the streets rather than keeping you locked in a room. CEO Richard Harpham describes the venue as a hub for friends, family, parties and work events, with team-building packages designed to boost morale and inspire collaboration.
