Drop-in session to make chemigrams, camera-less photographs, with artist Tom Godwin.
Tom Godwin is running a camera-less photography workshop for kids at Thinktank on Thursday 29 October. It's a drop-in session, so you don't need to book a slot in advance — you just turn up when it suits you during the day. The workshop is aimed at children aged 8 and over, and it's led by Godwin, who'll be guiding them through the process.
The whole thing is called Chemigrams, and the hook is right there in the title: it's photography without a camera. Instead of a lens and a shutter, you work directly with light-sensitive materials and chemicals to create images. It's a hands-on way of making a photograph that strips the process back to its basics, and because it's a workshop, the kids get to do the making themselves rather than just watching someone else do it. If you've got a child who likes to tinker or who's always curious about how things actually work, this is exactly that kind of thing.

It's a drop-in session, so there's no fixed start or end time to worry about — you can just pop in with your kids whenever you're around Thinktank that day. The workshop is for children aged 8 and over, and it's led by Tom Godwin, who'll be there to walk them through the process. It's a great way to spend a bit of the half-term break doing something a bit different from the usual.
