A hands-on workshop to make brooch collages with artist Rocío Aguilar at Craft & Culture.
Rocío Aguilar is leading a brooch collage workshop at Craft & Culture in Birmingham on Saturday 7 November. It's an afternoon of making, creativity and conversation, and the whole thing is built around her work as an artist.
If you're not familiar with the process, brooch collage is exactly what it sounds like: you'll be working with collage to create a piece of jewellery you can actually wear. The session is as much about the making as it is about the conversation that happens around the table, so it's one of those afternoons where you'll leave with something you've made and a bit of a chat to go with it.
Aguilar is the one running the show, and the workshop is built around her practice. It's a hands-on session, so you'll be getting stuck into the collage yourself rather than just watching from the side. The focus is on the process of putting a piece together and the conversation that comes with it, so it's a good one if you enjoy the social side of a workshop as much as the making.
