Evening of Blood on the Clocktower, a social deception game, with several games run by a regular group at The Victoria.
Blood on the Clocktower is coming to The Victoria on Wednesday 28 October, with the first game starting at 6:30pm. If you've never come across it, it's a social deception game: a group of 'goodies' have to figure out who the 'baddies' are among them and vote them out, while the baddies work to eliminate the goodies. It's the kind of thing that's best explained by actually playing it, and the whole point is the talking, the arguing, and the lying your way out of a corner.
The session is run by a group that's been playing for a few months now, and they're running the base game alongside their own home-made customs, so you'll get the standard experience and a bit of their own twist on top. If you're new to it, don't let that put you off — the base game is where the core of the thing is, and the customs are just extra flavour on the side.
One game usually takes between an hour and an hour and a half, and they're planning to fit in two or three over the course of the evening, so you'll likely get more than one go at it. The first game kicks off at 6:30pm, and the whole session runs until 9:30pm, which gives you plenty of time to settle in and maybe even play a second or third round if the night keeps going. It's a good way to spend a Wednesday evening in the city, especially if you're into games that rely more on reading people than on a rulebook.
