Glassy 'n' Date - South Asian Dating Event

Glassy 'n' Date is back at Sophy in Digbeth on Friday 6 November, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. It's a South Asian speed-dating night run by Glassy Group, pitched as an alternative to the apps and built around meeting people face-to-face rather than swiping through a screen. The room is filled with South Asian singles aged 25 to 45, and a host keeps the energy up and the awkwardness down throughout the night.

Beyond the introductions, there's a bit of a toolkit on hand to help things along. Cue cards are there to rescue a conversation if it stalls, and contact cards let you hand your details to anyone you want a second date with. Entry includes a free glass of Prosecco, and the bar stays open for the rest of the evening. Tickets are gendered, and women can get a 2-for-1 ticket to bring a friend by messaging the organisers on Instagram with both names; men pay full price.

Sophy is at 1 Gibb St, Deritend, Birmingham B9 4AA, right in the heart of Digbeth. The night runs from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, and it's part of a regular series that happens every first Friday of the month, so if this one doesn't work out, there's usually another one coming up soon. Tickets range from £9.38 to £24.54.
