A social dating event where attendees pitch their single friends to a room of other singles, designed to reduce dating app fatigue.
Pitch Your Friend comes to BOX Brindleyplace on Thursday 12 November, a night that turns the chore of dating on its head by letting your mates do the hard work for you. The premise is simple: instead of you pitching yourself, your friends pitch you. If you've got a single mate who's a great catch but just hasn't found their person, this is your chance to make the case for them in front of a room of other singles.
The format is a bit like a low-stakes presentation night. Those pitching get three to five minutes with a slide deck and a live pitch to sell their friend to the crowd, while everyone else watches on. There's mingling before and after the pitches, so you can actually talk to the people you've just heard about. It's built on the idea that dating in 2026 can be a slog and that apps cause fatigue, and it's aimed at curious, sociable people in their mid-20s to late-30s who are done with the swiping.
The night is run by Gareth Lewis Events. Lewis has spent more than 12 years running events that bring people together, starting with PopUp Painting and now curating a portfolio of singles nights, LGBTQ+ meetups and social experiences across London, Cambridge and Birmingham, with Brighton announced as a new autumn 2026 addition. This is one of those singles nights, and it's designed for people who'd rather meet in person than through a screen.
