Afternoon Play

Afternoon Play is back at Gas Street Social on Sunday 8 November, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It's a friendly, casual board game meet-up run by the people behind afternoonplay.co.uk, and it happens on the first Sunday of each month at the top end of The Mailbox in Birmingham.

The whole afternoon is built around spending a lazy Sunday with tea, cakes and games. Newcomers are always welcome, and if you're new to a particular game, the rules are explained for you. It's a bring-your-own affair: you bring along your own board games, card games, dice games, or anything else that can be played in a pub, and you play with whoever you fancy. There's an optional food menu at the venue if you want something more substantial than a slice of cake.

Gas Street Social is at 160 Wharfside Street, Gas St. Mailbox, Birmingham B1 1RL, and the group also runs a Facebook page if you want to keep up with things. There's no entry fee, so you just turn up with your games and settle in for the afternoon.
