Family screening of the adventure film 'The Treasure of Barracuda' at the Queen's Film Theatre, part of the 37th Cinemagic International Film Festival.
The Treasure of Barracuda is playing at Queen's Film Theatre on Sunday 25 October, a family film preview as part of the 37th Cinemagic International Film Festival. It's an adventure about an orphan named Sparks who ends up on Captain Barracuda's pirate ship, and the screening runs for 1 hour 23 minutes.
Cinemagic is a big one for the city this autumn, running from 27 September to 1 November across Belfast with more than 125 events. It's run in association with Belfast City Airport and funded by the Department for Communities through Northern Ireland Screen and Belfast City Council. The programme is broad: a world cinema section, family and teen films, over 50 film industry masterclasses, the Young Filmmaker Competition, and CineSeeker Jury panels. This preview sits within the family and teen side of things, so it's one of the easier ways to get the kids involved in the festival.
Queen's Film Theatre is the home for this screening, and it's been Northern Ireland's leading independent cinema since 1968. Film critic Mark Kermode once called it 'Northern Ireland's best loved cinema', which sums up how it sits in the city's film life. If you're bringing the family, there are two things to keep in mind: the presentation contains flashing images that may affect viewers susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy, and the age recommendation is 8+.
