Hard rock concert by Ricky Warwick and his band The Fighting Hearts at The Limelight 2 in Belfast.
Ricky Warwick & The Fighting Hearts play Limelight 2 on Sunday 8 November, with the show starting at 19:00. It's a Belfast date for the Northern Irish musician and songwriter, who's spent the last few decades fronting some of the biggest hard rock names in the UK and Ireland.
If you're not familiar with the name, you've almost certainly heard his voice. Warwick is the lead singer of Black Star Riders and Thin Lizzy, and before that he was the frontman of the Scottish hard rock band The Almighty, who charted across the UK throughout the 1990s before going on hiatus. He's released several solo albums since then, and The Fighting Hearts is the band he fronts as a vehicle for that solo material.
So when you see them on the bill, you're getting Warwick's own songs rather than the Lizzy or Black Star Riders catalogues. It's his own writing and his own band, which is a different side of the career you might not have caught if you only know him from the bigger group names. He's been at this for a long time — born in July 1966 — and this is the solo project he's built around his own songwriting.
