Stand-up show 'Yer Maw' by Antrim comedian Gary Meikle at the Ulster Hall.
Gary Meikle brings Yer Maw to Ulster Hall on Saturday 31 October, and if the title sounds familiar, that's because it is. Yer Maw is Meikle's long-running show, which returns each year as a brand-new hour and a half of stories, opinions and observations about himself, his family and the people around him. It's a bit of a tradition for him, and this is the latest version.
Meikle writes the blurb himself, and he's quite clear about what's on the bill. The set is built around his own life and the people he crosses paths with, but the audience is also right at the centre of the room. You can expect absurd scenarios, animals, and at least one 'yer maw' jokeβthe kind of thing that gives the show its name.
He's also open about who the show is for. He warns that it's not suitable for small children, and the venue recommends ages 16 and over, so it's one to keep in mind if you're thinking of bringing the whole family along.
