Richard Ayoade brings his stage show 'Afterthoughts' to the Ulster Hall, exploring more than 500 of his own notions.
Richard Ayoade is playing Ulster Hall on Thursday 29 October, his first time on a Belfast stage. The show is called Afterthoughts, and it's exactly what the title suggests: Ayoade turning to the stage to work through more than 500 of his own colossal notions. If you've only ever known him from a screen, this is the one where he's the only thing on it.
Most of us know him as the BAFTA-winning actor, comedian, director and writer behind The IT Crowd, or as the director of Submarine and The Double. He's hosted Travel Man and The Crystal Maze, and lent his voice to The Boxtrolls, Early Man, Soul and The Bad Guys. He's perhaps most recognisable as the photographer in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, who delivers the line 'Please, Mer Sellers, can I get a shot of you and your mum?'. Afterthoughts takes that voice and puts it in a live room.
