Halloween screening of Tim Burton's stop-motion film Frankenweenie at ODEON Cinemas Belfast, part of the Cinemagic festival for young people.
Frankenweenie is screening at ODEON Cinemas Belfast on 30 October, as part of the 37th Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People. It's Tim Burton's black-and-white stop-motion tale about Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist whose beloved dog Sparky is tragically killed. Victor uses lightning to bring him back from the dead, but when Sparky escapes, ambitious classmates steal the secret and accidentally create a horde of monstrous creatures that unleash chaos on their suburban town.
It's billed as gentler than the adult horror on the same night, and it's cross-listed for families who want a softer scare. If you're taking younger ones, that's a useful bit of context to keep in mind before you book.

The screening is one part of a month-long celebration of short film that brings together international work for young audiences with films by emerging local filmmakers. Alongside the screenings, the festival runs industry talks, workshops, talent-lab masterclasses and Official Film Jury panels. It's the 37th edition of Cinemagic, so it's a well-established fixture on the city's autumn calendar. The screening falls on 30 October, just a day before Halloween, at ODEON Cinemas Belfast.
