Belfast singer-songwriter Briana Corrigan, former voice of The Beautiful South, returns to the Crescent Arts Centre with her own songs and traditional numbers.
Briana Corrigan plays the Crescent Arts Centre on Friday 27 November, with special guest Daniel Isaiah. It's a homecoming show in the city where she was born, presented by Music Capital.
Corrigan is a Belfast-born singer-songwriter best known as the voice of The Beautiful South, and the voice on A Little Time, the Brit Award-winning single that became one of the defining tracks of the 1990s. Time Out described her as having "one of the most distinctive voices in pop", and she's released two critically acclaimed solo albums that got good reviews from Q, Melody Maker, Hot Press and NME. This show comes after a ten-year hiatus from live performance; she's since returned to the stage with sold-out dates across the UK and Ireland.
The set will pull from a few different places. There'll be Beautiful South favourites, her own compositions, and interpretations of traditional songs. It's a mix of the songs people know from the band and the more personal, solo work she's built since then, all held in the city where she started. Daniel Isaiah opens the night.
