Play-based learning session for children aged 2 to 4 and their caregivers, with arts and crafts, storybook times and garden exploration.
Young Sprouts is back at the Atlanta Botanical Garden this November, a series of morning sessions for kids aged 2 to 4 and their caregivers. It's part of the garden's Atlanta For Kids programming, which is built around introducing young children to the joys of nature. Each session is led by Ms. Ally and runs for an hour and a half, with the learning coming from play rather than a classroom setting.
Over the course of the series, the mornings follow a similar rhythm: arts and crafts, storybook times, and garden exploration. The crafts give the kids something to make with their hands, the stories bring the natural world to life through a book, and the exploration lets them actually get out into the garden and see the plants and wildlife for themselves. It's a slow, hands-on way to get little ones curious about the outdoors.
There are four sessions in total, all on Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. They run November 13, 20, December 4, and December 11, so you'll be coming back to the garden four times over the next few weeks. The series skips November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday, so you'll have a break that week before picking back up in early December.

Caregivers have to attend with their children, and the sessions are designed for that shared experience. The cost is $100 per child, or $80 for members, and the garden is at 1345 Piedmont Ave NE in Midtown. If you're already a member, the discount makes it a bit easier to commit to all four dates.
