Play-based learning session for children aged 2 to 4 and their caregivers, with arts and crafts, storybook time and garden exploration.
Young Sprouts returns to the Atlanta Botanical Garden on Friday, November 13, as part of a series of play-based learning sessions for children ages 2 to 4 and their caregivers. It's a program where the Garden becomes an outdoor classroom, and the sessions are led by Ms. Ally. The activities—arts and crafts, storybook times, and garden exploration—follow the season, with play-based learning meant to spark a child's imagination and stimulate interest in the natural world. Each session runs for an hour and a half, and places are limited to ten children per group.
Young Sprouts is one of several family activities the Garden offers for the little ones. It sits alongside Storybook Time, Garden Grooves, and Garden Playtime, all under the broader "Atlanta For Kids" umbrella. The Garden's wider mission is to develop and maintain plant collections for display, education, research, conservation, and enjoyment, and this program brings that work down to a scale that makes sense for a toddler.

The November 13 session is part of a four-part series: Fridays, November 13, 20, and December 4 and 11, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. It skips November 27, so there's a gap between the second and third dates. The price is $100 per child, or $80 for members, and since caregivers have to attend the session, you'll be right there with your child for the full ninety minutes. You can find the Garden at 1345 Piedmont Ave NE in Atlanta.
