Free, all-ages art exhibit by Party for Socialism and Liberation Atlanta marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Two America's at 250: An Art Exhibit opens at the Atlanta Liberation Center on Saturday, October 24, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Presented by Party for Socialism and Liberation Atlanta, the show is built around the United States marking 250 years since its founding.
The organizers frame the exhibit as a counter-narrative to the official one. They argue that the ruling class has whitewashed the nation's true history and that the Trump administration is actively reshaping how American history is presented in federal institutions, public landmarks, and schools. Rather than the official version, they point to a working-class history of people who fought colonialism and slavery, organized for labor and voting rights, resisted Jim Crow racism, opposed the war machine, and defended immigrants' rights, housing, and environmental protections. The exhibit presents these as the struggles whose victories won the democratic rights and pro-worker reforms defended today.
