Seasonal exhibit of decorated trees and displays that explore Christmas and Hanukkah traditions from cultures around the world.
Winter Wonderland opens at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History on November 21, 2026, and runs through January 10, 2027. It's a seasonal exhibit that celebrates cultures and traditions from around the world through decorated trees and displays. Each tree draws on art, craft, symbols, and ornaments to tell a unique story chosen with local cultural partners, and the collection covers both secular and non-secular holidays, including Christmas and Hanukkah.
If you're not familiar with the museum itself, it's a science and nature experience that combines a natural history museum, a giant screen theater, and an old-growth forest. Winter Wonderland is featured during Fernbank After Dark and additional Museum Nights, so you can see it as part of a larger visit. The exhibit stays open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, with select nights staying open late.
