Free cooking demo by chef Stella Dillard of Dandelion Food & Goods, who teaches a seasonal recipe in the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen.
Chef Stella Dillard takes over the Atlanta Botanical Garden on Monday, October 26, for another session of the Garden Chef Demos. The demo runs from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen, and it's free with Garden admission.
The Garden Chef Demos are built around fresh, seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs, worked into simple recipes that Dillard prepares and serves right there in the outdoor kitchen. During the session, she'll walk you through a seasonal recipe, showing you how to put it together so you can take it home and make it yourself. It's a good way to see how to use what's actually in season in Atlanta without it feeling like a formal class.
Dillard is an Atlanta native with 15 years of experience in some of the city's best kitchens, and she's known for the relationships she keeps with local farmers and her attention to detail. She describes her approach to food as medicine, fun, and love, and says her goal is to bring joy into your kitchen and spread it like a weed. That's the same spirit she brings to the demo: taking seasonal produce and turning it into something you'll actually want to cook on a Tuesday night.
