A twice-monthly lunch-break series featuring food trucks, local vendors, live music and lawn games at the interim Midtown Green park.
Lunch on the Green returns to Midtown Green on Thursday, October 22, from 11 AM to 2 PM. It's part of a twice-monthly lunch-break series at the interim park at 98 14th Street, right in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. The session brings together food trucks, local vendors, live music, and lawn games on the grass.
If you're not familiar with the spot, Midtown Green is a bit of a local curiosity. It sits on a gap in the city where the luxury skyscraper No. 2 Opus Place never took off. The Midtown Improvement District announced the project in early 2025 and bought the foreclosed acreage for $46 million that May, with global architecture firm Field Operations as the designer. Until the permanent park is built, the ground comes alive each autumn with free community programming, and visitors are invited to meet the project team and help shape what the space becomes. The interim version already has an irrigation system, Bermuda sod and wildflowers, lawn games, picnic tables, food-truck parking, portable restrooms, and a large 2-D 'MIDTOWN' letters installation. Long-term plans call for a far more elaborate cultural and civic destination 'without walls.'

It's a good spot to spend a long lunch. You've got the food trucks and local vendors for eating, live music for the background, and lawn games to keep you occupied while you're there. The park is one block south of MARTA's Arts Center station, and there's onsite bike parking if you're riding in. Entry is free, and it runs from 11 AM to 2 PM on Thursday, October 22.
