Free outdoor cardio dance fitness session mixing Zumba, hip-hop and Afrobeats rhythms, led by instructor Dawn Peck.
Moves on the Green is back at Midtown Green on Thursday, October 29, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. This session is part of the Midtown Alliance's free community fitness series, which runs every Thursday evening through September and October. The whole thing is designed to bring people together through movement, fresh air and connection, and this particular night is a Cardio Dance class led by instructor Dawn Peck.
Peck mixes easy-to-follow choreography with Zumba, hip-hop, Afrobeats, reggae, reggaeton and other upbeat rhythms. You don't need any dance experience to join in, so it's as much for people who have never stepped foot in a studio as it is for those who do. After the class, complimentary snacks are handed out, which makes it easy to hang around and meet the neighbors who turned up beside you.
The park sits across from the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta and a block south of the Arts Center MARTA station, a few blocks where a group fitness class, a hotel entrance and a rail stop share the street. The session is outdoors and subject to cancellation or postponement for inclement weather. Bike parking is available on site, and there's self-paid parking in the Promenade deck nearby.
