Free cooking demonstration by chef Megan McCarthy in the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen, where she teaches seasonal recipes with fresh produce.
Chef Megan McCarthy is taking over the outdoor kitchen at the Atlanta Botanical Garden on Saturday, October 31, for a Garden Chef Demo. It's part of the garden's Atlanta Food programming, which runs throughout the season in the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen. The format is straightforward: chefs teach visitors how to prepare seasonal recipes using fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and McCarthy is the one leading this session.
McCarthy is a healthy lifestyle consultant, influencer, and chef who founded Healthy Eating 101. She serves as the Edible Garden chef and is a 'Have a Plant' ambassador for the Produce for Better Health Foundation. She was recently voted 'Best Cooking Classes for the Everyday Chef' in Atlanta, and she writes recipes for several national food brands. If you've been looking for a way to get more produce into your cooking without it feeling like a chore, her background in healthy eating and everyday cooking makes her a good person to learn from.
The demo runs alongside the garden's annual Scarecrows in the Garden tradition, which returns every October with colorful creations made by local families, schools, businesses, and community groups. So if you're already planning a trip to see the scarecrows, this fits right into the same visit.
