Culminating day of the Atlanta Haiku Festival with haiku readings, a writing workshop, family activities and a chef demonstration at the Outdoor Kitchen.
Atlanta Haiku Festival Day is coming to the Atlanta Botanical Garden on Saturday, April 17, 2027, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It's the culminating day of the Garden's annual spring festival, which centers on the connection between art and nature through haiku. This year's theme is Microseasons.
There's a writing contest leading up to it: from February 1 to 28, you can submit up to two original, unpublished haiku. The winners get complimentary admission to the festival and have their work displayed in the Garden. On the day itself, you stroll through Storza Woods to see those winning poems and hear them read aloud by the writers who wrote them. Beyond the exhibition, there are haiku discovery stations to explore and haiku writing workshops you can drop into if you're feeling inspired.
The day doesn't stop at poetry. There's a chef demonstration with samples at the Outdoor Kitchen, and family-friendly activities and performances scattered throughout. It's designed as a full morning and early afternoon, so you can move between the woods, the workshops, and the food at your own pace.
