A musical family stage show by The McDougalls with singalong songs, musical mayhem and audience participation, with the audience encouraged to come dressed as a toy.
The McDougalls are bringing their new family show, The McDougalls in Toyland, to the Aberdeen Arts Centre on Sunday 31 January. It's a live stage production built for all ages, so it's one of those afternoons you can drag the whole family along to.
The story follows Max, Auntie Aggie and Morag the Rabbit as they set off on the Toyland Express. From there, it's a musical journey through Toyland, with singalong songs and audience participation running through the whole thing. The McDougalls describe it as being packed with singalong songs and musical mayhem, and they've made it clear that the audience is part of the show rather than just watching from the seats.
There's one particular detail worth knowing before you go: they're encouraging everyone to turn up dressed as a toy. If you're taking kids, it's a good excuse to get them into costume, and it fits the whole Toyland theme. It's a children's theatre company at the heart of it, so the show is aimed at families.
