The smash-hit West End musical Annie, with Claire Sweeney as Miss Hannigan, returns to His Majesty's Theatre.
Annie plays His Majesty's Theatre from Tuesday 3 to Sunday 8 November, a six-day run that brings the West End musical to Aberdeen. Claire Sweeney takes the role of Miss Hannigan, the tyrannical orphanage matron who spends much of the show trying to keep the young protagonist under her thumb.
Set in 1930s New York, the story follows Annie, a brave girl forced into a life of misery at Miss Hannigan's orphanage. Things change when she's chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, though Hannigan spends the rest of the show hatching a plan to spoil Annie's search for her true family. It's a Tony award-winning book and score, and you'll recognise the songs that have become part of the musical's identity: 'It's The Hard-Knock Life', 'Easy Street', 'I Don't Need Anything But You' and 'Tomorrow'.
