Family-friendly immersive Halloween show where visitors become part of the story to save Halloween from the chaos of Mr Funny Bones.
The Hallows Haunted Eve runs at the Aberdeen Arts Centre on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, with performances at 10am, 11.30am, 1pm, 2.45pm and 4.30pm. It's an immersive theatre experience from The Lantern Door, with a show created by Jessica Anderson. There's no age restriction, so it works for families with very young ones as well as older kids.
Rather than sitting in a seat and watching, you step through a door into The Hallows, a world of monsters, magic and mayhem where you become part of the story. The residents there need your help: Mr Funny Bones has been causing chaos and Halloween itself is in danger. You'll meet the characters, take on challenges and get involved in the adventure, all while following one important rule: Mr Funny Bones mustn't find out that help is on the way. Everyone is encouraged to turn up in disguise, dressed as monsters, and the whole thing culminates in a Monster Bash with the characters, with everyone taking home a free party bag.

If you're booking for the 4.30pm slot, keep in mind it has a slightly spookier atmosphere with a few extra jump scares, so that one is recommended for ages 8+. The Aberdeen Arts Centre is an independent arts venue and registered charity in the heart of the city, and it's been championing openness and engagement for over 60 years. Tickets are £16.17, which includes the booking fee.
