Scottish alt-rock band Teenage Fanclub play The Lemon Tree to celebrate their album 'Nothing Lasts Forever', on a tour of seated rooms.
Teenage Fanclub play The Lemon Tree on Wednesday 11 November, one of four UK dates on a tour celebrating their latest album, Nothing Lasts Forever. The Scottish alt-rock five-piece are taking the record across the UK and Europe, with the Aberdeen show followed by dates in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It's a run that sees them playing seated rooms rather than the standing venues they've spent most of their career in.
That shift in setting is something the band have talked about. Drummer Raymond McGinley explained that after their previous record, Endless Arcade, they realised they'd played the same venues over and over for more than thirty years. They decided to book seated rooms instead, both to play in a theatre environment and in places they'd never played before, aiming for a novel experience for the band and the audience alike. It's a different way of doing things for a group that's been on the road for decades, and it changes the whole feel of the night.
