A family afternoon of stories, songs, crafts and panto characters for children aged 0 to 5 and their families.
Storytime in Pantoland comes to the Aberdeen Arts Centre on Friday 4 December, a session built for the smallest members of the family and their grown-ups. It's part of the Arts Centre's pantomime season, and it's aimed at children aged 0 to 5, so it's a good one if you've got a toddler or a preschooler who's not quite ready for a full panto yet.
The afternoon is a mix of stories, songs, crafts and laughter, with the cast's larger-than-life characters making an appearance. It's billed as a first taste of panto magic, staged in a relaxed and friendly environment, which is exactly what you want when you're taking a little one to their first theatre experience. The whole thing is designed to be gentle and welcoming, rather than overwhelming, so it's a soft introduction to the noise and colour of the season.
It's a great way to get the kids involved in the panto spirit without the commitment of a full show. Between the storytelling and the crafts, there's plenty for them to do, and meeting the characters in person is usually the highlight for the youngest ones. If you've been wondering whether your little one is ready for the panto, this is a low-pressure way to find out.
