Tribute show to Doris Day with three international vocalists, professional dancers, costumes, choreography and vintage video projections.
Que Sera Sera: The Greatest Hits of Doris Day comes to the Aberdeen Arts Centre on Sunday 7 November 2027, a tribute to one of Hollywood's biggest stars. The show traces her career in music and film from the big band days through to the movies that made her a household name, so it covers a fair bit of ground across the decades.
Three international vocalists lead the singing, supported by professional dancers who perform her classic songs. The whole thing is backed by costumes, choreography and vintage video projection, with footage from a bygone era running throughout. It's a full stage production rather than a simple recital, with the dancing and the projections playing as much of a part as the music.
One thing worth knowing is that the production doesn't try to mimic Doris Day's own sound or her movements. Instead, it lets the songs themselves carry the homage, so you'll hear the songs without an impression of her on stage. It's a tribute to the music rather than a recreation of the person.
