Stand-up and variety show by Britain's Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy, who performs with his iPad and no filter.
Lost Voice Guy brings his show The Cerebral Palsy Puppet to Aberdeen Arts Centre on Saturday 8 May 2027. For those who don't know him, Lost Voice Guy is Lee Ridley, the first comedian to ever win Britain's Got Talent.
That win is a good place to start, because it's a big part of the show. Ridley talks about how the victory turned him into a bit of a target for media mockery: people congratulating him in the street for winning The X Factor, online theories that he's got a secret writer working backstage, and the claim that he must be living in a mansion at the taxpayer's expense — which he insists is actually a castle. He's a Geordie with cerebral palsy, and he performs with his trusty iPad and absolutely no filter, taking aim at talent shows, dating disasters, Jehovah's Witnesses and the hold music on the Department for Work and Pensions' phone line. He's also back on the road partly because he spent all his benefit money on things he didn't need, just to annoy the Daily Mail.
It's a set that doesn't shy away from the disability side of things, and the critics have noticed. The Guardian called him funny and personal; The Times said he sharply deals with misconceptions about his disability; and The Independent called him mischievous. Beyond the stand-up, he's appeared on Live at the Apollo, The Last Leg and the Royal Variety Performance, and you can hear him on his Radio 4 sitcom Ability.
