A magical seaside adventure for ages 0-5 with playful storytelling, music and puppetry, written and directed by Lyndsey Graham.
Doon the Watter comes to The Lemon Tree on Sunday 18 October, with two performances that afternoon: one at 1:00pm and another at 2:30pm. Each one runs for 40 minutes, so it's a short, focused session that fits easily around a Sunday lunch.
It's a seaside adventure for the under-fives, following two sisters who set off 'doon the watter' to their favourite island. Along the way, the journey fills with mermaids, soaring seabirds and mischievous seal pups. The storytelling is playful, and it's brought to life with music and puppetry, so the seaside comes to the stage rather than the other way around. It's billed as a heartwarming celebration of nature, storytelling and the joy of adventure, and it's recommended for ages 0-5.
Behind it are Lyndsey Graham, who wrote and directed the show, and Amy Gallagher and Iona Ramsay, who perform it. Graham comes from the same team that created The House-proud Mouse, and Broadway World called this one 'a clever and engaging piece of theatre that prevented even the smallest of audience members from getting restless'.
