Founding members Justin Currie and Iain Harvie of Del Amitri share stories and answer fan questions in an evening of conversation and Q&A.
Del Amitri are coming to the Tivoli Theatre on Tuesday 11 May 2027, but it's not a gig. Founding members Justin Currie, the singer, and Iain Harvie, the guitarist, are stepping away from the amps for an evening of conversation and storytelling. They're the two who drove the songwriting on the songs most people know them for — 'Roll to Me', 'Always the Last To Know' and 'Nothing Ever Happens' — and this is them talking about how it all happened rather than playing it.
The first half is their turn to do the talking. They're drawing on more than four decades of songwriting, world tours and band history to tell stories from life on the road and inside the studio, tracing the journey from their early Glasgow origins to international stardom. They've described the tales as candid, hilarious, poignant and sometimes absurd, so it's less of a formal retrospective and more of a look back at the odd and funny bits that usually stay behind the scenes. It's an unscripted evening, which means the stories come out naturally rather than from a set script.
The second half belongs to the audience. It's a live, interactive Q&A session where you can ask your own questions, and they've said no topic is off-limits. If you've always wondered about a particular record or a specific tour, this is the part where you get to find out.
