Live concert by the award-winning folk band Breabach at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen.
Breabach play The Lemon Tree on Friday 30 October, their only Aberdeen date this autumn. It's a full-band folk set, and they're the sole act on the bill.
They've been around since 2005, and the years have put a fair few accolades behind them: Folk Band of the Year and Live Act of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards. They describe themselves as being at the forefront of the UK's world and roots music scene, and they talk about their sound as matching fiery intensity with exquisite finesse. It's a good way of putting it, because they've built a reputation as one of the best contemporary folk acts working in the UK.
If you're not familiar with them, that's exactly where they sit: rooted in tradition, but playing it with a contemporary energy that doesn't feel like a museum piece. They've spent two decades refining that balance, and this is a live show, so you'll hear it played out in full rather than through a record.
