Adam Riches is back at Theatre@41 on Friday 27 November, returning as Sean Bean in How the Bean Saved Christmas. It's a new production for 2026, so it's not just a repeat of what he's been doing on the road.
If you've missed the premise, the whole thing is built around Riches pretending to be Sean Bean. The plot is a bit of a shaggy dog: last Christmas, he gave you his heart; the very next year, you gave it away. Now The Bean is back with more chaos and more buNoonery, out to save Christmas once and for all. The cast is simple: Riches as Sean Bean, and the audience as 'A Bunch of Bastards'.
It's a show that's already picked up a fair bit of noise. The 2025 version was named a 'Must-See Christmas Show' by The Independent, The Times, Time Out, and The Guardian, and it made Chortle's list too. Chortle summed it up as 'Christmas wouldn't be Christmas if it weren't for Adam Riches pretending to be Sean Bean, riding an inflatable reindeer and booting mince pies into the audience'—which gives you a pretty good idea of the kind of night you're in for. Riches himself is an Edinburgh Comedy Award winner, and this is his particular brand of festive comedy.
