Rare character whiskeys paired with a multi-course menu by Chef Brent Hunt at Bern's Steak House, raising funds for the Laxer Family Foundation.
Bern's Steak House is hosting the 10th annual Whiskey Tampa Foxtrot from November 9 to 14, 2026. It's a six-night series of intimate dinners, with a different distillery taking center stage each evening and the house culinary team pairing the pours with full courses. The whole thing is a fundraiser for the Laxer Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that supports at-risk and aspiring youth, honors US veterans, and nurtures burgeoning culinary artists.
Wednesday, November 11, is the Rare Character night, the third evening of the week. Pablo Moix will be behind the bottle, pouring Rare Character whiskeys including the Bern's 70th Anniversary Curated Batch, the Commander's Club, Brook Hill 17 Year, Old Cassidy, and Black Maple Hill 11 Year Rye. Chef de Cuisine Brent Hunt has built the menu around those pours, with Pastry Chef Hannah Thomas handling the sweet finish. The courses run through Duck & Foie Gras Country, Veal Sweetbreads, Mushroom & Date Stuffed Rabbit Saddle, and Japanese Vaca, before closing with a Honey Crème Brulée.
