Free community health and wellness event for adults 50 and over with instructor-led fitness, wellness vendors, healthy snacks and a Guinness World Record attempt.
The Strong Over 50 Experience takes over Armature Works on Sunday, November 15, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It's a community health and wellness event built for adults 50 and older, with the whole afternoon centered on staying active, strong, and independent as you age. Hundreds of people from across Tampa Bay usually turn up for it, so it's more of a gathering than a small workshop.
The afternoon is built around movement and health education. You'll find instructor-led fitness and movement activities to get you moving, health and wellness vendors with booths to browse, healthy snacks, giveaways, and social activities to do with the other people there. There are also resources on hand if you're looking for more health information to take home. It's an interactive setup, so you're not just sitting and listening—you're actually doing the activities.
Beyond the wellness fair part of the day, there's a specific goal on the table: an official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Senior Citizen's Health Awareness Lesson. That's the big draw that brings everyone together in one spot, and it's the part that turns a regular health fair into something a bit more ambitious. If you're there, you're part of the count.
