Free screening of David Cronenberg's 1983 film 'Videodrome' at WashU Cinema in Brown Hall, with general admission tickets for the public.
WashU Cinema is screening David Cronenberg's Videodrome at Brown Hall on Thursday, October 29. The film runs 89 minutes and stars James Woods and Deborah Harry, with Les Carlson, Peter Dvorsky and Sonja Smits in the supporting cast. It's a 1983 release, so if you've never seen it, it's a chance to catch it on a big screen rather than at home.
WashU Cinema is a student-run operation, run by the WashU Cinema Student Executives and the WashU Program in Film & Media Studies. They describe it as a professional-standard cinema, and the setup backs that up: they project in both digital and 35mm with Dolby Surround Sound, and they program for both the university and the local St. Louis community. The screening is held in Brown Hall 100 on the Danforth campus, a 500-seat auditorium in the east wing of the building. Brown Hall itself was named for George Warren Brown and dedicated in January 1937, and it houses the Brown School.
