Stand-up comedian Tonerio Brown headlines Helium Comedy Club with his live show 'First Time Being 40', weaving stand-up, storytelling and spoken word.
Tonerio Brown headlines Helium Comedy Club on Wednesday, October 28, with his new live show First Time Being 40. It's a homecoming of sorts: Brown is a St. Louis stand-up, actor, and writer who won Helium's 'Funniest Person in St. Louis' in 2023, and he's returning to that same stage as the headliner.
The show follows his debut comedy special, Young Dumb and Full of Comedy, which came out in March 2026. That special blended stand-up, storytelling, and poetry, and it closed with a poemβone that Brown plans to weave spoken word throughout this live experience. If you've seen the special, this is the live version of that same energy.
Brown has been pursuing stand-up seriously since 2018, and he's known for high-energy storytelling and a point of view that's unmistakably Midwestern. Beyond the local circuit, he won the Looney Bin Comedy Competition in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has worked across different mediums: he created the animated series Wussup Dawg and has written and acted for film, with Hella Drove and My Cousin Phil available on Tubi and Amazon Prime.
