Stand-up show by Emmy-winning comedian David Cross, presented by the Flyover Comedy Festival at The Pageant, 18+.
David Cross plays The Pageant on Thursday, November 12, presented by the Flyover Comedy Festival. If you've only known him from TV, it's worth remembering that stand-up is where he started and where he's spent more than 40 years. He's an Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, writer, and producer, and this is a straight-ahead comedy show.
Most people recognize him as the co-creator and star of the HBO sketch series Mr. Show with Bob and David, or as Tobias Fünke on Arrested Development. He was also part of the ensemble cast of The Ben Stiller Show, which earned him an Emmy for writing early in his career. On screen, he's appeared in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Station Eleven, The Umbrella Academy, and Genius: Aretha. He's written as well, with the New York Times bestseller I Drink For A Reason and the co-authored Hollywood Said No! with Bob Odenkirk and Brian Posehn.
His stand-up has its own track record. His comedy albums have drawn multiple Grammy nominations, and Rolling Stone named his special The Pride Is Back one of the 25 most important stand-up specials of all time. That's a fair bit of ground to cover for one night.
