Concert by Steve Taylor and Some Band with special guest The Choir at The Sheldon.
Steve Taylor and Some Band play The Sheldon on Wednesday, October 28, with The Choir as special guest. It's a double bill of two acts that have both been around for decades, and they're coming to St. Louis together.
Steve Taylor has been recording since 1983, and his work covers a lot of ground. He's put out solo albums like the GRAMMY-nominated Meltdown in 1984 and Squint in 1993, founded the alternative rock band Chagall Guevara, and fronted the supergroup Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil. He also produced Sixpence None The Richer's Platinum-certified 1997 album and is the only artist to twice win Billboard Music Video Awards for videos he directed himself. These days he's in Nashville, serving as Director of the School of Theatre and Cinematic Arts and Assistant Professor and Filmmaker-In-Residence at Lipscomb University. Over four decades, he's earned multiple RIAA Platinum and Gold certifications, worldwide sales exceeding one million, two GRAMMY nominations, and a string of Billboard Music, Dove, Telly, and American Advertising awards.
Opening for him is The Choir, who formed in Southern California and now base themselves in Nashville. 2026 marks their 40th anniversary, which they're celebrating with Dragonfly, a double album with 20 songs. Between Taylor's long run of solo and band projects and The Choir's four decades, there's a lot of history on one stage.
