Special Event: Sarper Guven

Sarper Guven is coming to Helium & Elements Restaurant in St. Louis on Tuesday, November 24, for a 90-minute stand-up set. If you recognize the name, it's probably from 90 Day Fiancé, where he's a reality TV star, but he's also a Turkish comedian who's been touring his own material for a while now. He's headlined more than 150 shows across 40-plus states in the U.S. and Canada, so this isn't a one-off appearance.

His set is entirely original material, and he describes his approach as 'Sarperism'—his own take on a few familiar themes. He spends a good deal of time on relationships and marriage, the differences between men and women, and American culture compared to the rest of the world, all tied together with the everyday chaos of life. It's the kind of observational comedy that works whether you've followed his reality TV run or you're just coming for the stand-up.
