Free screening of the animated film 'Flow' by Gints Zilbalodis at the Saint Louis Art Museum as part of its SLAM Cinema community film night.
SLAM Cinema brings the animated film Flow to the Saint Louis Art Museum on Friday, November 13, in the Farrell Auditorium. The screening runs from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and it's part of the museum's community film night program.
Flow is a 2024 animated feature directed by Gints Zilbalodis. It's 85 minutes long, rated PG, and told entirely without dialogue. The story follows a solitary black cat whose world is transformed by a mysterious flood; after seeking refuge on a small boat, the cat finds itself sharing space with an unlikely collection of animal companions. From there, it's a story about learning to coexist and cooperate with others when you've spent your life on your own. The film touches on resilience, adaptation, trust, vulnerability, our relationship with nature, and what it means to belong.
The screening is hosted by Psychedelic STL, a St. Louis nonprofit focused on psychedelic science, consciousness, and mental health. They're presenting this as a casual, substance-free gathering, and there's an optional informal conversation after the film for anyone who wants to stick around and talk about it. The Saint Louis Art Museum itself is in Forest Park, one of the city's leading comprehensive art museums, with works from almost every time period and culture and free admission every day.

Admission is free and open to the public, though reservations are recommended. If you book online through MetroTix, there's a $3 service fee per ticket; the museum welcome desks may offer tickets without that fee. The screening starts at 6:30 PM and wraps up by 8:00 PM.
