College party at Red Flag hosted by T-Marley with music by DJ Tab and special guests for students from across the St. Louis area.
DJ Tab takes over Red Flag on Wednesday, October 21, for a college party hosted by T-Marley. The night runs from 7 PM to 12 AM at 3040 Locust St, and the music spans hip hop, R&B, afrobeats, and top 40. It's aimed at students from across the St. Louis area, with Harris-Stowe State University, SLU, UMSL, WashU, Fontbonne, and SIUE all in the mix.
Tab is a hip-hop DJ, record producer, and entrepreneur, born Trumaine Barnett-Epps. He's put out more than 30 mixtapes and still runs the Get-N-Tune radio show on Saturday nights. He's also built a few things outside the booth: he launched the Empire men's clothing line in 2015 and the Get-N-Tune energy drink in 2016. Deluxe Magazine named him one of its 2016 'Emerging 30', and he picked up the 2018 Stifel Bank & Trust Black Tie Community Award in Arts & Entertainment. He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and has talked about opening a non-profit to help teenagers.
He won't be the only one on the bill. T-Marley hosts the night, and Tab is joined by special guests Skyy, KoKo Boomin, 23RRD, Tyglizzy, and Laatee. Between the six of them, they'll be working through hip hop, R&B, afrobeats, and top 40, so the set should pull from a few different corners of the club. The whole thing is geared toward the college crowd, and the music runs across those genres rather than sticking to just one.
