Live concert by soul and blues singer Marc Broussard at Delmar Hall on Delmar Boulevard.
Marc Broussard plays Delmar Hall on Tuesday, April 6, 2027. He's the only name on the bill, so it's a full night of his set. Doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM.
Broussard is from Carencro, Louisiana, and his music sits at the crossroads of blues and soul. He first drew attention in 2002 when he released his debut album, Momentary Setback, which he recorded and released independently at age 20. He'd been spotted early, too — there's a story of him belting "Johnny B. Goode" onstage at age five while sitting in with his father's band. His song "Home" became a radio success and pushed him onto the national touring stage, and his soulful voice has led to work in film and television.
He describes his sound as channeling the spirits of classic R&B, rock, and soul into contemporary terms. That Louisiana background comes through in the way he blends those styles, with the blues and soul of the Gulf Coast running through the middle of it. It's a voice that fits right into the R&B and soul tradition, but he's been working with it since he was a kid.
